How to Overcome Evil

I started writing this letter last week, but it has taken me several starts, stops, changes, and restarts as I thought and prayed through what to write about and just how to say it.
This summer, I took a break from sending out newsletters, and while I needed the pause, I also looked forward to getting back into the rhythm of regular writing. So, this past Wednesday, my husband took the kids for a couple of hours, allowing me some uninterrupted time to focus on writing. That afternoon, while I wrote, the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk took place.
When something of this level of horrific evil happens, it shakes us to the core. Suddenly, all the trivial stuff of life seems so small. In the days since the shooting, I've wondered and prayed about what to include in this month's newsletter. Should I scrap everything I had already written that afternoon before I learned of Charlie's murder? Does any of it even matter? I mean, who cares about finding a new recipe or a helpful homemaking…
